Before you start
The connector is reserved to the Pro, Scale and Enterprise plans, like the subscriber API. If your account is on Starter or in trial, the authorization screen will offer a plan change before going on.
On the Claude side, custom connectors are added from claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the mobile app, which share one list. Claude Code is set up separately, with one command.
- An active Sweeprice account, Pro plan or above
- A Claude account (the same for claude.ai, Desktop and mobile)
- For Claude Code: Claude Code installed on your machine
From claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the mobile app
Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose "Add custom connector". Name it Sweeprice and paste the server address, nothing else.
Confirm, then click Connect: Claude opens the Sweeprice authorization page in your browser. Once authorized, the connector appears in the list and its tools are available in every new conversation, on the three apps.

In your terminal, add the server with the command below. It registers the connector for your user; add --scope project to share it with a repository.
Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, select sweeprice then Authenticate. Your browser opens the Sweeprice authorization page. After your approval, it returns to a local address on your machine (localhost) to hand the code to Claude Code: this is expected, and the Sweeprice screen points it out.
claude mcp add --transport http sweeprice https://mcp.sweeprice.com/mcpThe authorization screen
The page shows who asks for access (the application's address, claude.ai for instance), the Sweeprice account involved and the requested permissions, in two groups: read and write. If you are not signed in, you go through the login page first and come back to the screen.
Authorize creates a connected app and returns a code to Claude; Deny sends Claude back without creating anything. The request expires after ten minutes: past that, start the connection again from Claude.
Tools and permissions
The connector declares twelve tools, each tied to a permission. Claude sees the whole list and tells you about a write before making it.
- catalog:read: tracked products and account summary
- prices:read: price positions, competing offers, 90 days of history, recommended prices
- alerts:read: alerts and notifications
- catalog:write: add a product to track, by link or barcode
- settings:write: floor, ceiling and mode of a line
- alerts:write: mark notifications as read
Revoking the access
In Sweeprice, open Settings, API, then the Connected apps card: every authorization is listed with its host, its permissions and its last use. Revoking cuts the access at once; Claude's next call fails and offers to reconnect.
You can also remove the connector on the Claude side. The token then stays listed in your settings until you revoke it or it expires, and no other application can use it.
Limits and allowance
Claude's calls draw on the same monthly allowance as the API: 10,000 calls on Pro, 100,000 on Scale. One tool call counts as one call; the counter is shown in Settings, API.
Lists are capped at 100 items per call, history at 90 days. A plan that no longer qualifies, an exhausted allowance or a missing permission produce a message Claude can read and explains to you, never a silent disconnection.
Troubleshooting
The common situations and their fix.
- Claude says it has no access to Sweeprice: the token was revoked or expired; start the connection again from Claude's connectors (or /mcp in Claude Code).
- The authorization screen offers a plan change: the account is on Starter or in trial; move to Pro then resume the connection.
- The request has expired: more than ten minutes went by; start the connection again from Claude.
- Claude answers that a tool is unavailable: the month's allowance is exhausted; it resets the next month.
- Claude Code does not open the browser: copy the address shown in the terminal and open it yourself; the return to localhost works the same way.
